Der Atari ST 1987 war eigentlich auch eine viel billigere Mac-Kopie. Denn: Der ATARI ST hatte einen Monochrom-Mode hatte mit einer Auflösung von 640×480 und war damit hochauflösender als der Macintosh 1985 512*348 Pixel. Dies war beim ST selbstverständlich nicht an einem Fernseher möglich sondern erforderte einen Monitor. Zu dieser Zeit war es „gang und gäbe“, dass geschäftlich monochrom gearbeitet wurde (Verbreitung von Hercules-Grafikkarten). Monochrom war schliesslich nicht „gamig“ – kurz seriös.
Dennoch entstanden einige Monchrom-Spiele für den Atari ST. Die Liste unten ist erstaunlich lang.
Game: Oxyd
Oxyd war eines der bekannsten Spiele für den Monchrom-Mac. Man spielte es auf dieser Büromaschine ‚logischerweise‘ eher mit der Maus! Es hatte also in der Steuerung nicht mehr viel mit Consolen spielen zu tun, die damals ja eigentlich „reaktionär“ waren – fokkusierte man auf die gesamte Spielgeschichte (vgl dazu Win95 und die Spiele).

Dabei gilt zu beachten, dass es zumindest ein AddOn für den MAc zu einem Brettspiel gab.

Nachfolgend eine erstaunlich lange Liste. Dabei sind es vorallem Puzzle-, Strategie-, Text- und Grafikadventuresspiele. Auch viele 3D Spiele sind hier zu finden (Monchrom sollte eigentlich eine Vereinfachung sein für das Entwickeln von 3D Spielen.)
